About This Blog

I started blogging in 2010 when we moved to Oxford both as a creative outlet and a way to share our experiences. Though I began haphazardly without a particular theme, as I’ve written these pages one has emerged. If this blog has a motto it is probably “Be where you are” or “Bloom where you are planted” and it chronicles my efforts to do just that.

I try to keep the tone positive around here–not because things are perfect but because I’m seeking to count my blessings. Honesty is important to me–no story or picture is faked. But I don’t write about anything too private or personal. After all, this is the internet, people. I like to keep clear lines between my journal and the wide, wide world.

I love readers, and especially commenters. I’ve “inter-met” some really wonderful people through this blog. Thanks for investing–and please add, correct, question, and generally remark on whatever you like!

Hi Bethany, thanks for your encouraging words! On the mobile site, scroll all the way down to the bottom and click on “view full site.” It will open up the sidebar of my blog on the right. Partway down, you will see “Be One of the Main Readers” with a blank textbar and a YES button. Enter an email in the box and click the YES button. If you are a wordpress user you can also subscribe that way, just leave the textbox blank and click YES for this option. Hope it helps!
