it’s never too cold

Despite many visits in every season, the Oxford Botanic Garden remains a favorite place for our whole family. We like to take the children there even in the winter. Thus they learn to find beauty in every season and can watch Spring happen from the very beginning. We go into the city on a Saturday morning, sometimes stopping for a cappuccino at The Missing Bean on Turl Street, and walk down the High to the gardens. It’s one of those places that will stand out in my memory in future years, when Oxford’s quiet, classic beauty is long behind us.

I can’t wait to visit the Botanical Gardens here in Cambridge, but I don’t want to go before the flowers are out…I’m making myself wait. I want to be completely overwhelmed when I see them for the first time!

PS — I love the picture of Hugh at the gardens — what a fabulous smile!
