goldilocks and the three bears

Goldilocks had yellow hair and a pretty smile. She was also very, very curious. Skipping down the hall one day, straight ahead she saw a nice little flat. Without even a proper knock, she walked straight in!

No one seemed to be at home, but on the table she saw three lovely bowls of porridge. A big bowl, a medium-sized bowl, and a baby bowl. She was feeling a bit peckish, and she had to have a bite.

She started in on the biggest bowl, but it was much too hot!

She tasted the porridge in the medium-sized bowl, but it was distastefully cold.

Last she tried the baby bowl, and it was just right. In fact, it was so delicious that she ate it all up!

After such a tasty snack, Goldilocks wanted to sit down. She wandered into the lounge, where she found three chairs. There was a big chair, a medium-sized chair, and a baby chair. Goldilocks climbed up on the biggest chair.

She tried the medium chair, but it was way too soft.

So finally Goldilocks simply sat down in the baby chair. It was just right! She settled in for a bit of a rest . . .

The chair suddenly broke and dumped Goldilocks flat on the floor! That was enough of the lounge. She decided to peek around and found the bedroom.  She saw a big daddy-and-mummy bed and a little baby cot. Goldilocks climbed right up onto the daddy side. It was very hard and uncomfortable. “I don’t yike it,” she said firmly.

She tried rolling onto the pillows on the mummy side of the bed, but it was way too soft.

Finally, Goldilocks climbed into the baby cot. It was just right! She was so tired and the baby cot was so comfortable that she fell fast asleep.

Meanwhile, the three bears that lived in the nice little flat came home. They had been having a stroll while their breakfast cooled. Suddenly Daddy Bear saw something.
“Someone’s been eating my porridge!” he growled in his sternest Daddy Bear voice. (Daddy Bear loved porridge.)

Mummy Bear gasped. “Someone’s been eating my porridge, too!”

Baby Bear began to fuss. “Someone’s been eating my porridge and they gobbled it all up!”

The three bears went into the lounge to discuss this mystery. But suddenly Daddy Bear saw some flower petals on his chair. He said, “Someone’s been sitting in my chair!”

“Someone’s been sitting in my chair, too!” cried Mummy Bear.

“Someone’s been sitting in my little chair and they broke it all to pieces!” wailed Baby Bear.

“Who would do such a thing!”

The three bears charged into the bedroom. “Someone’s been sleeping in my bed!” hollered Daddy Bear. “Someone’s been on my side, too,” called Mummy Bear. “It makes me feel quite ill!”

Suddenly Baby Bear let out a scream from near her little cot. “Someone’s been in my bed, too! And look, she’s in it still!”

They all stared down at Goldilocks, sleeping soundly in the cot. When she woke and saw them there, it scared her quite a lot. She leaped up from the cot and ran straight home very fast. Goldilocks had learned her lesson about curiosity at last!
