a bit of a snowy day

As you can see, there was a bit of snow today.

The experts are predicting that it will be the coldest December on record for Oxford. Today it was around 32° F when we headed out to see the artisan’s market on Broad Street.

We heard this may be the most snow Oxford has seen in December in thirty years. I’m glad we could be here for the experience. Oxford was stunning beyond belief drifted with snow, and the peculiar silence that snow storms create was the perfect addition to its historic beauty. I love this city.

The locals did their Christmas shopping under umbrellas. We weren’t in the city for long when we had to grab a bus home–they were about to stop running, and we didn’t want to get stranded! We returned to find some of our neighbors meeting snow for the first time in the backyard.

I was feeling homesick last week, but this pretty much scratched the itch. Back home
domes are falling and people are freezing.

I loved the shot of the bicycles covered with snow. Something we don’t see in Minnesota!

Are you kidding. Here in Mn. we put snowtires on the bikes and keep riding (well a few people do….We prefer our automatic carstarter)
